Doodle Champion Island Games Begin! is a doodle made on July 23rd 2021 for the Tokyo Olympics. It then appeared again on August 24th 2021 for the Paralympics. The Doodle spent 2 years in development and is currently the largest interactive Doodle, which can be fully completed in an average of under 3 hours.

You play as 'Lucky the cat' and compete in 7 different sports; Archery, Table Tennis, Skateboarding, Marathon, Artistic Swimming, Climbing, and Rugby.

Description

The Grand Champions you have to defeat are: Tanooki in Skateboarding, Kijimuna in Marathon, Red and Blue Oni in Rugby, Otohime in Artistic Swimming, Tengu in Table Tennis, Yoichi in Archery, and Fukuro in Climbing.

The game has an RPG style with many tasks and side quests for the player to do in their quest to get all 7 scrolls. Completing various side quests can unlock harder versions of the main 7 games. You can view all the side quests you have completed in the Trophy Room at the northeast of the central island.

There are four teams the player can join. The Red Team, led by a bird which believes in research, the Blue Team, led by a bull which believes in training and strength, the Green Team, led by a kappa which believes in having a positive attitude, and the Yellow team, led by a fox which is generally secretive and sneaky.

  • This Doodle was originally going to be shown for the Olympics of the previous year, but since the event was pushed to next year, the Doodle was pushed along with it. This is also why the Doodle is filed as "2020" and "kitsune20".
    • "Kitsune" is the Japanese word for Fox, this was also in the title because Lucky was originally going to be a fox.
  • The music in this Doodle was composed by Qumu, a musical artist known for creating remixes and covers of videogame music.
